Umbria, the green heart of Italy.

History, nature, mysticism and taste of this peaceful and picturesque region come together and express themselves in the uniqueness of its terroir and the variety of its wines.

Unique terroir

Umbrian rolling hills, diverse soils, and temperate climate create an ideal environment for cultivating high-quality grape varieties. With a mix of river valleys and hillside landscapes, the region hosts a range of soil compositions that contribute to the unique characteristics of its wines.
The Umbrian terroir is a fusion of tradition, landscape, and climate, resulting in the creation of outstanding wines with a strong sense of regional identity.

Sagrantino wine

The “sacre” wine is known for its intense color, rich tannins, and bold, full-bodied character. It often exhibits deep, dark fruit flavors, accompanied by earthy undertones. Sagrantino is a quite rare grape variety mainly grown in the Montefalco area.
Due to its specific growing conditions and limited cultivation, it yields a relatively small production volume, adding to its exclusivity and desirability among wine enthusiasts. A fascinating aspects of Sagrantino wine is its aging potential: this wine can evolve beautifully over time, often improving in complexity and developing more nuanced flavors.

Variety of grapes

Umbria's diverse terroir fosters the cultivation of various grape varieties. Indigenous grape varieties like Sagrantino, expressing itself in robust red wines with bold tannins and longevity, and Grechetto, a prominent white grape, yields crisp and aromatic wines, are the pillars of Umbrian winemaking.
Sangiovese thrives in this region, producing versatile reds ranging from light and fruity to full-bodied expressions. Other grapes such as Montepulciano, Merlot, Trebbiano and Cabernet Sauvignon find a niche, contributing to the diversity of Umbrian wines.
